HelpDesk / Support Desk (FITS)
- RT is an enterprise-grade ticketing system which enables a group of people to intelligently and efficiently manage tasks, issues, and requests submitted by a community of users.
- RTIR was developed in cooperation with JANET-CERT (JANET is the Education and Research network in the UK) (CERT = Computer Emergency Response Team). JANET-CERT was interested in RT, but needed additional features to make it optimal for Incident Response.
- OSU helpdesk software is Bugzilla that has been modified for helpdesk situations, documentation is poor.
Network Management (FITS)
- A selection of web-based tools to help manage networks in educational environments. Includes a support request / issue tracking system and network connectivity tester.
- Developed and tested on Linux.
- Combination of *Snare Client on servers, Syslog-ng and php-syslog-ng makes a really useful logging server. Allows us to track user logons/print jobs and system errors in a multiplatform environment
