I am IT Manager at Taunton's College in Southampton. From 2003 to 2006 I was "Technical Administrator for Information Technology" at Regents Park Community College, in Southampton. Whilst there I introduced Linux for most central network services, including internet access control, intranet services, file storage and groupware.

I use FLOSS at both home and work, particularly the Debian and Ubuntu distributions. I'm also Chairman of Hampshire Linux User Group and can usually be found in #hants on the lug.org.uk IRC server.

I'm also responsible for a project called School Tools for On-line Resource Management which you can download from http://www.tonywhitmore.co.uk/storm. Version 0.1.0 is up on the site right now, offering login, registration, authentication and support request tracking. The development version includes a module for booking ICT resources, like digital cameras, online. They are all PHP and PEAR::DB based, and so are intended to be platform independent.
